CCM 252

Announcement:

I’ve been super stressed with school the past few weeks, and have been virtually unable to translate at all. I also start midterm exams next week, which I really need to focus on. Luckily, I anticipated such things would happen (it’s inevitable in my major), and I have translated ahead of time. They only need to be checked over and posted. Thus, you will still get your regular 3 chapters next week, but they won’t be up until after I finish my exams on Friday. Sorry, and thanks for your understanding >.< At least it’s not a cliffhanger this time?

Anyways, it’s the official start of the new arc! There’s also one more Author’s Note at the end of this chapter.

TL Note: A Megaconus is an actual thing.

Chapter 252 – Officially Setting Off Pt. 2

Crunch…crunch…crunch…

The crisp sound of a person walking on snow seemed much clearer on the spacious and empty plain. Suo Jia walked forward step by step, his mood not as bad as it should have been.

After leaving Holy Light City, Suo Jia had caught up to Aimi, Aila, and his mother, then escorted them back to his hometown, White Granary. Although the Fourth Prince had gained the White Villa, as well as Dawn, Suo Jia still had some money on him. After buying the largest, most luxurious castles in the town, he left behind 10 billion gold and then left the town alone.

Before he left, Suo Jia ordered Aimi and Aila to enter closed door training with all their concentration during the next three years, while also looking after his mother. They weren’t to go out; hired servants would be responsible for provisions.

Although Holy Light Empire wasn’t large, Suo Jia wasn’t worried about his mother and the two girls being captured. The Fourth Prince’s target had been locked onto Suo Jia from the beginning to end. As long as he revealed himself elsewhere to pull away all the attention towards him, and his mother, Aimia, and Aila stayed in the house, nobody in the world would be able to find them.

Originally, Suo Jia hadn’t needed to fall to this extent. If he had just agreed to become the Fourth Prince’s subordinate, everything would’ve been restored to what it was like originally, and even get better. Suo Jia had skills, ability, and would surely help the Fourth Prince. However, he still resolutely refused to choose this.

The Fourth Prince had stood at the wrong position from the very beginning. He had calculated Suo Jia into his plans this whole time; moreover, the situation had worsened because Suo Jia had broken these plans. Although he didn’t understand the Fourth Prince’s exact scheme, Suo Jia knew that the Fourth Prince had always included him. It was precisely for this reason that Suo Jia was steadfast on helping the Emperor, who he wasn’t as close to, rather than rely on the Fourth Prince’s help.

Actually, the Fourth Prince had made another major error; he shouldn’t have let Suo Jia know the Angelic Six-Winged Phoenixes were his subordinates. Suo Jia really placed heavy importance on those girls; he’d gained not only money from them, but many emotions and hope as well. Having suddenly experienced betrayal, how was Suo Jia supposed to have been lured into the one that had incited the betrayal?

It could be said that while the Fourth Prince was smugly telling Suo Jia that the Angelic Six-Winged Phoenixes were his subordinates, and that Suo Jia had been manipulated that whole time, it was already impossible for Suo Jia to join him. From that moment on, the Fourth Prince had become Suo Jia’s greatest enemy.

Now, Suo Jia had lost the White Villa, lost Dawn, lost the Angelic Six-Winged Phoenixes that he had spent so much effort to support; he’d pretty much lost everything. However, Suo Jia wasn’t actually that upset; on the contrary, he had been roused. If the Fourth Prince had taken away Suo Jia’s everything, then there would come a day where he’d return and take away the Fourth Prince’s everything.

Since Suo Jia now needed to draw the Fourth Prince’s attention towards him, he had to reveal himself. At the same time, Suo Jia also wanted to quickly raise his strength. Otherwise, he’d never be able to regain the debt that the Fourth Prince owed him.

Although Suo Jia’s goal this whole time had been the Greater Trade Routes, Suo Jia had never had the courage to embark on this journey. As a Great Mage, he still didn’t have the qualifications to rush headlong into the Greater Trade Routes; his strength was just too lacking.

But now, new hatred piled on old. Having been forced by the circumstances, Suo Jia had to start on his journey on the Greater Trade Routes. He knew that while it was still very dangerous, this was precisely the reason why he had to do it; only then would he be able to train. Both his intelligence and strength would quickly increase.

It could be said that those who had successfully passed through the Greater Trade Routes were all recorded as legendary heroes. If they could proclaim themselves hegemons on the Greater Trade Routes, they’d be like the Seven Pinnacles, Epic ranked heroes. Only then would he be able to easily achieve his desires including stealing the kingship of the Empire.

Crunch…crunch…crunch…

Advancing dauntlessly through wave upon wave of endless attacks from pursuers, Suo Jia had already wandered around various paths on the map. As he looked around at the boundless white plains, Suo Jia realized that he had already gotten lost. After over a month of being chased, Suo Jia had finally gotten the chance to take a breath. That was because…while Suo Jia had gotten lost, he’d also seemed to have shaken off his pursuers.

As a mage, Suo Jia’s physical strength wasn’t that good with covering long distances. If it weren’t for the constant replenishment from the four colored potions, he would’ve collapsed from exhaustion ages ago. Now…although his energy and endurance weren’t any issue, his mind was still tired. After trekking around for over a month, he needed a stable, warm place to rest for a bit.

Suo Jia suddenly stopped in his tracks. He could see his breath coming out in huffs as he perked his ears to listen closely. Soon, he heard a faint roar of a beast. At this, Suo Jia’s face broke into a delighted smile.

The Megaconus was a type of magical beast that could be tamed. Although its body was small, it was extremely fast, and had an extraordinarily sensitive sense of smell. It was the nemesis of most small-sized magical beasts, and also the best assistant to hunters. The sound that Suo Jia had just heard was the roar of a Megaconus; in other words, Suo Jia had finally encountered a person.

Suo Jia quickened his pace, running towards the direction of the sound as fast as possible. Soon…a few Megaconus figures appeared before him.

The Megaconus had a tiger’s head, a dog’s body, and a lion’s tail. Its most unique part was the two large teeth next to its mouth. A single chomp was enough to pulverize even steel. Although it wasn’t strong in 1v1 fights, if a large group of Megaconus of 5 or more fought together, any large-sized magical beast would be forced to flee. If their numbers reached 100, then they’d be basically unrivaled, aside from high-ranked magical beasts.

But in reality, the Megaconus was something only hunters would raise, because its individual strength was too low. It was at most only a middle-ranked magical beast, so true warriors would never bother raising one.

“Freeze.” A voice of warning suddenly came from in front of him.

Suo Jia started, and immediately stopped. When he glanced over, he saw 5 figures wearing animal skins, standing about 50 meters away. The bows in their hands were all pointed towards Suo Jia. It was clear that as they didn’t know Suo Jia’s purpose for coming, the sharp arrows would be immediately shot towards him if he dared to advance. At the same time, those 5 Megaconus would also bound over to rip him to pieces.

Suo Jia stood in place with a bitter smile. He knew that no matter how strong he was, his current strength wasn’t enough to defeat 5 Megaconus and 5 senior hunters at the same time. In addition, he wanted to ask the other people something, so he couldn’t possibly provoke them.

Suo Jia smiled and declared, “Don’t be mistaken. I’m simply a lost wanderer; I have no ill intentions. I just want to ask for directions.”

“Hmph.” One of the hunters opposite him snorted, “Don’t try to deceive us. We’ve seen mages before; they dress similarly to you.”

“Eh.” Only after hearing the other party’s words did Suo Jia realized that he had never seemed to have seen the clothes they were wearing before. Although they only wore animal skins, the shape and cut of the clothes were different from what Suo Jia knew. Most importantly, the fur of the skins were all on the outside.

In Holy Light Empire, all the hunters had the fur on the inside of the leather clothing. Firstly due to the aesthetic reasons, and secondly due to increase warmth. But the hunters in front of Suo Jia now had the fur on the outer surface, which confused him.

Soon, Suo Jia realized that this place was most likely no longer Holy Light Empire. As he inspected the opposite party, he asked sincerely, “May I ask, is this Holy Light Empire’s territory?”

The hunters opposite him started, then…one of the older hunters finally sighed and put down his bow. He said with a smile, “It looks like you really are lost. This isn’t Holy Light’s territory, it’s actually Kaya Empire’s territory.”

“Ka…Kaya.” Suo Jia felt dizziness rush through his head. After all this time, he’d unknowingly reached Holy Light’s neighboring country. No wonder he was lost…with a map of Holy Light Empire, how was he supposed to find his way around Kaya Empire?

Author’s Note:

Starting from this chapter, Suo Jia has officially left Holy Light and embarked on a long journey. As for the Angelic Six-Winged Phoenixes, they will have their explanation later. In my writing, betrayers never have good endings. The Velociraptor Knights follow this, as do the Fourth Prince and Wen Ya. As for Duo Mei’s group, I don’t have much to say. I don’t actually think of their actions as betrayal, but it’s true that the Fourth Prince and Suo Jia were both simultaneously betrayed.

The reason I say they didn’t betray anyone is because they didn’t do anything bad to Suo Jia. Even when the Fourth Prince had ordered them to hunt Suo Jia down, they hadn’t acted. They hadn’t ever gone against any of Suo Jia’s orders, so how could they be said to have betrayed him?

Saying they betrayed him isn’t excessive either. Not listening to the Fourth Prince’s words was betrayal, but they simultaneously let Suo Jia meet with misfortune, which was also betrayal. Thus….everyone should properly consider their difficult circumstances. If it were you, exactly who would you be loyal to? Would it be a petty oath of devotion in to the Fourth Prince, who held their families in his hand, or to their benefactor with whom that had strong emotions for, Suo Jia? Loyalty couldn’t be split between the two, so what were they to do?

Actually, I already addressed this really really….really early and clearly. However, you guys all just didn’t see it back then. There were complaints about how Suo Jia was too intelligent, but really, while he is extremely smart, many of his actions were being manipulated, like a puppet. And the one holding those strings were the Fourth Prince and Wen Ya. If you can, you should please go back and read before pondering the matter closely.

Some readers have already seen that the Fourth Prince isn’t actually powerful in terms of politics. After all, he’s only the fourth child; there are still three older brothers in front of him. He has few supporters, which is why the fire wind warriors were under the Fourth Prince’s control. The reason why he had come to Holy Light and why he hadn’t minded Wen Ya’s fatness before to relentlessly chase after her was to create a huge support for himself. After all…Holy Light was a super megapolis in the Empire, the strongest power. He needed the support of Duke Wen Sha, to obtain the kingship.

        MC:”Why are you leaving me”
Girlfriend:”i know the fourth prince from 6years ago and we are in relationship”
MC:”Then why were you with me”
        Girlfriend:”Because he told me”
MC:”Now y are you leaving we are in relationship now”
Girlfriend:”But it’s clear to see that now the Young Master has broken off relations with the Fourth Prince, so…”
MC:”…now we are together right and your prince is gonna kill me what are you gonna do”
        Girlfriend:”Watch”
Now who wants to save her ,which part is true which part is false.

        1. That’s not similar at all to what actually happened. This isn’t a romantic relationship, it’s a duty relationship. The fourth prince had them in his hand since before the mc was even in the story. The author just said the prince even had their families in his hands. Not only that, but all that conversation you wrote never happened. They weren’t with him because the prince “told them”, he ordered them, like the pawns they are. Their silence when they were ordered to capture the mc implied their unwillingness to act, you adding “Watch” as if they said that doesn’t go with the implied emotions at all. They weren’t “watching”, they didn’t know what to do. And us as the readers were even told that they would have listened to mc if he had told them to stop the prince. Hopefully the mc will have a better mentality to sort out through the jumble of emotions than a lot of the readers do.

  1. Thanks for the chapter XD

And I hope the 36 wind-fire girls rejoin the harem >.<

They had duel loyalty from the start… not exactly betrayal…

Though I wish the 4th prince wasn’t actually an enemy… I mean, its rare to see a man love a woman in Xianxia despite her becoming ugly….. I get the big reveal… but all of this could have easily been older members of the family guiding the youths…..

But reality is cruel… just too too cruel T^T

    1. No those 36 girls are really traitors, you can call them inside spy. They are the real spy of the 4th prince. You remember that they have more time with the 4th prince rather than SJ.
And I can’t really call that dual loyalty. remember they said that from the very beginning there loyalty are for the 4th prince alone. They might not cause physical damage to SJ but the mental damage was enough for SJ to cry some blood of tears.

In short they should be punished and killed on spot! such girls are the worst thing to add in ones harem since you can never say they well not repeat such betrayal in the future!

      1. Dude, humans wrong each other. Besides, all humans make mistakes. Suo Jia purposely gave them no orders so that they don’t have troubles.

So they were with the 4th prince more… so what?

They didn’t actually know they were going against Suo Jia….

Remember, at the time they joined him, Suo Jia was (and still is) a child.

But their loyalty was real. It’s just that they were trained earlier.

It’s like if your wife was abused by her father and trained to not disobey him, and all of the sudden, that vile father came back and she wouldn’t go against him. Plus, give the wife’s little brother as a hostage to the dad.

In that situation, can one really blame the wife?

In that situation, what Suo Jia needs to do is free them and shower them with love. Tell them it’s okay and let them know how much he still cares for them.

The girls hearts belong to Suo Jia, and no matter what, would rather be with him.

Just that the scars run too deep.

And even then, they didn’t actually go against him and even now still want to be with him.

So you see, they aren’t traitors or spies…. they’re just the girls Suo Jia needs to save.

If Suo Jia acts too petty in such a situation, then he doesn’t deserve to have a harem.

Course, he should only get with them after getting rid of the 4th Prince….

        1. Whatever you need to tell yourself to sleep at night.
Loyal and disloyal are mutually exclusive.
You are either alive or dead.
You’ve either cheated or you haven’t.
          It’s like terrorists.
Man A has his family held hostage by Terrorist Group B.
Man A ends up planting a bomb for Terrorist Group B.
Said bomb explodes killing your family.
Going by your reasoning, you should not hold Man A responsible for the deaths of your family. After all, his family was held hostage.
After burying all your loved ones, I hope you enjoy your ride to the court to defend him.

What happened here was a double betrayal. Except the 4th prince (Emperor) kept them around because he needed their strength.

SJ has no need for people he can’t trust.

As for your wife scenario, her only way out is to kill the father. By not doing so, she is betraying the little brother. After all, if he is willing to use her, there is no reason why he won’t use the little brother in some way. On top of that, when the little brother finds out the kind of life his sister has led, all to protect him… The anguish it would cause him would be great. Then he will go out and kill the father. Or he will kill himself, so that the wife has no more reason to listen to the father, not realizing that she will still be his tool to use, and being even easier to control now, as she has caused the death of her little brother and is feeling extremely depressed. Eventually, she will come to hate herself so much, that she will kill the father and then herself, or just herself.

Plus, I thought the Fire Wind Warriors were supposed to be loyal to the Holy Light Empire? Specifically, the Emperor. By not siding with SJ, they not only betrayed him, but their own country.

          Good. Job.

          1. So you have never been wronged by another human before?

Humans do bad things all the time. And besides, the 36 girls are close to him.

The points you use are for a different example than this one. Those were actual crimes.

The way the law handles issues and we humans as individuals handle things should be different -_-

Plus, killing ones family is a different issue.

In this one, they didn’t side with him, but they weren’t against him either.

And, we as humans are supposed to forgive.

In the end, how we should judge a person isn’t their actions, but by their heart.

Because all humans do bad things. It isn’t the problems, but how we work through those problems that help people grow.

And hating the person that was put in that horrible situation.

And for killing the father/influence… do you actually think that is easy?

If one has been trained from a young age, then that would effect how they act. You underestimate the power of psychological damage too much.

These girls were important to Suo Jia. If you abandon your family or friend just because they do something bad to you, then you were never really their friend, and deep down, you never truly cared… either that, or you are just too mentally weak….

            1. Such pretty words.

“So you have never been wronged by another human before?
Humans do bad things all the time. And besides, the 36 girls are close to him.”
That’s rather condescending and cruel. Are you implying I’m not human? Or that my friends and family aren’t? On one hand you say all humans do bad things all the time, and then ask if I’ve never been wronged by a human.

“The points you use are for a different example than this one. Those were actual crimes.
The way the law handles issues and we humans as individuals handle things should be different -_-”
So grooming your daughter to be your slave for her entire life is not a crime? Sure, you never specifically said, “slave”, but how else can you take, “It’s like if your wife was abused by her father and trained to not disobey him”?
Coming back from a later comment you made, if forgiving people were so easy, there would be no need for the law and the court in the first place. Because all transgressions would be forgiven, there would be nothing to be arrested for.

“Plus, killing ones family is a different issue.”
No. It is not. I love my family, but if my father ever controlled my sister like you said, I would kill him in a heartbeat. Not everyone can be sheep, leaving the wolves to roam freely.

“In this one, they didn’t side with him, but they weren’t against him either.”
As I said, while they never moved against him, they never moved for him, either. They betrayed the Prince, who expected them to follow his orders, and they betrayed Suo Jia by not defending him.
If the Secret Service of the United States did not protect the President because they were fearful of their life or were being blackmailed, then what’s the point?

“And, we as humans are supposed to forgive.
In the end, how we should judge a person isn’t their actions, but by their heart.”
So naive. So very, very naive. Also, a perfect example of when I said, “Pretty words”.
Let me quote a saying, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
Once again, you’re implying that it’s fine to do bad things, as long as you don’t enjoy them.
A father raping his daughter, having convinced himself that he’s just, “disciplining” her.

“Because all humans do bad things. It isn’t the problems, but how we work through those problems that help people grow.”
This is true, but has nothing to do with forgiving or forgetting.
“Ahaha! This is kind of embarrassing! I just raped you several times and stabbed you, but, forgive and forget?”
giggle “Of course! Forgiven! But can you at least call a doctor?”
              “Nope!”
              “”Ahahahaha!””

“And hating the person that was put in that horrible situation.
And for killing the father/influence… do you actually think that is easy?”
              Covered in previous responses.

“If one has been trained from a young age, then that would effect how they act. You underestimate the power of psychological damage too much.”
Not that it matters, because even if they’re so psychologically damaged that they no longer have any individuality left, the person/people responsible should just be forgiven, right?

“These girls were important to Suo Jia. If you abandon your family or friend just because they do something bad to you, then you were never really their friend, and deep down, you never truly cared… either that, or you are just too mentally weak….”
              More pretty words.
There is a huge difference between stealing a sibling’s top or piece of cake, and training someone to be subservient to you through fear of pain or threats.

                1. What victims? I’ve read his piece and that was not the message imparted to me. What I interpret on the message was that they betrayed Suo Jia which is my standpoint too.

Regarding the author’s note, it’s getting more ridiculous again:

I don’t actually think of their actions as betrayal, but it’s true that the Fourth Prince and Suo Jia were both simultaneously betrayed.
Saying on the first clause that the author doesn’t think they betrayed him but changed his/her stance on the second clause. God, this author really is stupid to the bone.

The reason I say they didn’t betray anyone is because they didn’t do anything bad to Suo Jia.
They betrayed Suo Jia by going to the prince. The author is really stupid.

At this point, I don’t know what mindset the author has in his mind by spouting BS logic. The mental gymnastics is stong for this one.

blah blah blah foreshadowing of the angelic warriors . . .
As far as the characterization of the warriors — like any other shallow characters in this novel — they joined SJ because of his beautician ability; without Suo Jia, they would never be able to maintain their beauty under the stress of Fire-Wind dual element. The way the Author uses his/her notes to justify his plot holes is just too stupid and clearly only makes him stupider.

I’ll just continue along to read this novel and comment like this everytime since the author is sooo stupid.

                  1. Firstly I have already told you to fuck off if you don’t like the story but you saying that you are going to stay here and comment like this shows just how idiotic you are,why would you stay in a place you hate simply to complain about it that’s stupid and the author’s point is that he personally doesn’t think that they betrayed him but he can understand that many people would say that they betrayed him because so and so . And yeah they didn’t do anything, guess what dumbass? That’s the best option for them because as jayhatrik himself put it, they have been abused and trained to be loyal to the him but SJs sincerity also moved them so in the end they could neutral unless you think they can just simply get rid of years of conditioning.

        2. It is a betrayal. His mother would have been a hostage if he had not thought far enough and those girls would not have helped his mother in anyway. 100% Betrayal i do not think they should be killed as you said “Humans do bad things all the time. And besides, the 36 girls are close to him.” humans do bad things i agree. But the girls are much closer to the prince they have been with him longer the only difference is SJ treated them sincerely.

          1. They showed love and affection towards him, and when he was gone, they missed him and felt empty without him.

And again, the girls never actually expected this situation where they’d be used to turn on him (though they didn’t and just stayed still).

Their action didn’t cause anything but a psychological blow to his pride

            They didn’t attack or anything.

The prince planned all of this stuff without their knowledge.

            Like

            1. While I agree with the fact they’re not traitors, they’re certainly not someone you can trust either. People are fickle, it’s hard to tell what they’re thinking, much less feeling when they themselves sometimes don’t know.

On one hand, it’s true that they didn’t follow the Prince’s orders to attack the MC, but can someone remain that calm after a betrayal? Remember, the MCs just a kid, albeit a extremely overpowered one, but still a kid. He’s invested a ton of money, time and a lot more emotion into the development of the 36 women then the Prince ever did.

Obviously there are circumstances behind their actions, but nonetheless they did it.
Plus, while the MC can guess this, would it matter? It’s not the fact that their family was threatened that he won’t understand, after all you can see how much he cares for his family, but the fact that he also considered them part of his is the real problem. After trusting them, and having this happen, I’m surprised he isn’t emotionally traumatized XD but then again this is in real world context. Who knows they might have a past or mind reader spell for all I know.

While being wronged by others is something we’ve gotten used to, you can remember once again that he’s a kid. I can still remember his reaction to that first slap :P except this event will no doubt impact him more deeply.

But on the other hand I hold some lingering attachment to them as a reader and hope they can return again. Also just a question, not meant to be insulting in anyway,

When you’ve been wronged by others you may forgive, but do you forget?

This is the main problem I think, the MC could forgive them, something I would love to see happen! But would he ever be able to forget this incident and forgive them?

Would he ever be able to focus on their progress and worry about them as much as he did before this? Forgoing his own equipment and time to find these things for them? At the very best they would become something like elite soilders, losing them would hurt, but not like losing a close friend or family member anymore. Just from that last war, you could see how he wanted to keep all of them alive, without a single one dying. Would he be able to care as much as before? Taking insane risks possibly to his own life to save them? Then again perhaps I’m too old and set in this mindset, after all he is a kind and his mindset and personality can slowly change :3

(This is just personal now, not a rebuttal)
If anything, I’m surprised at how quickly he recovered. It was clearly stated that he didn’t expect this, although you could say that the Knights betrayed him, he was expecting it. It’s the unexpected betrayal from those close to you that hurt the most. Thankfully the MC is really absurdly rational for his age and can somehow deal with even the most unexpected circumstances, me, being the penny-pincher I am, would be devastated and angered to hell, I mean he used up extremely rare and limited resources in making that armor, things that can’t be found anymore. While my response wouldn’t be to kill them, at the very least I would want that equipment back a lot.

Well ending on that extremely cheap note, I do hope to see them again in the story, this ending definitely doesn’t sit well with me.

In Xianxia, family members get forgiven (or spared) so easily, yet if these girls don’t…. I’d be pissed.

And he got all those rare resources because of Wen Li and the Prince…..

            2. Without their knowledge? What are you talking about of course they knew everything the girls met up with him every single time they left on a journey also didn’t the prince himself say they were loyal to him since the beginning. Well to tell you the truth if the main character easily accepts them back that is what will upset me the most right now i maybe wrong since the author did state they did not fully betray SJ they were loyal to both the prince and SJ. But my point is if the main character did not think far enough his mother would have been a hostage and those girls would have done nothing to help his mother because of their loyalty.

              1. Yeah! Exactly!
It’s obviously the author is setting it up so that he can bring them back in some capacity. After all, he still needs to finish his revenge and whatnot. Plus, those two girls and his mother are there. At some point he’s going to meet them again. I just don’t think he should be able to accept them back.
Even after the Prince is gone, who is to say that their family can’t be used against them to shake their loyalty to Suo Jia? Or that their loyalty hasn’t gone to the Empire or the next Emperor.
It would be absolutely foolish beyond belief to believe in someone who has already lost your trust.

The author trying to say that they’re loyal to both Suo Jia and Prince pisses me off.

You say that it is impossible to have two loyalties but that is only true on paper, you said it yourself they have been conditioned to be loyal to him and we have all seen how sincere SJ is, emotions and rationality don’t always agree with each other. I’m not saying that he should trust them I’m just saying that I understand what they did and why they did it because as human beings we can have dual loyalties, but it doesn’t mean that it’s a good idea to have dual loyalties. Just try to understand why they betrayed him because they also betrayed the former prince, remember?

              1. They probably just didn’t realize it.

They didn’t know that the 4th Prince was Suo Jia’s enemy.

Remember, he was a little kid at the time, so even if they respected him, they didn’t think they had to tell him everything.

And they just naively believed that they would spend their lives serving and supporting Suo Jia without any problems.

And in the fantasy world, things could easily be repaired more easily than in the real world.

Cause in the real world, people are more petty and stuff (though in fantasy worlds, people are also worse as well).

But just because they wronged him once doesn’t mean they don’t deserve a 2nd chance.

And it isn’t like Suo Jia hated the maids for being double agents. He was able to understand where they were coming from after all.

And it isn’t like these girls WANT to be against Suo Jia. They weren’t mocking or looking down on him for these events and felt saddened and hurt for what was done to him.

They really did care and had good feelings towards him.

Just because someone is a friend doesn’t mean that they’d never wrong you. And in this case, they really did want to be with Suo Jia and care for/support him.

so if a friend know you are being monitored from head to toe ,wouldn’t they give a heads up saying don’t plot against the prince or be friendly with the prince some thing like that .And he is not seen as a 13 year old kid by the girls they know how smart he is .

                  1. Still, in the last chapter with them, the author basically showed the girls feelings.

They didn’t want to hurt him or be against him, and felt empty without him. So they loved him (romantic or otherwise) a lot.

It isn’t like their feelings or loyalty to him was fake.

These girls were double agents without realizing they were double agents. They never thought a day would come where they would have to go against him.

The girls really wanted to be saved, but to be saved, they needed the 4th prince and Suo Jia.

And, again, we do know their feelings and know that they aren’t enemies or hateful towards Suo Jia.

Which is why I want the relationship repaired. Their heart lies with him, they want to be with him, and they sincerely care about him.

First when they are child they owed there loyalty to the empire stated as must which is mentioned means they are owing the loyalty to the current emperor and the entire kingdom not particularly fourth prince this is the part most of the people are confused about.

second there loyalty toward fourth prince means the fourth prince has struck a deal with them afterwards .which is them becoming Emperors personal guard if becomes the next emperor and some other benefits and treats.
(this would have happen because these girls support would ensure his possibilty of becoming the next emperor along with the support of the Duke )
so they now now tell me why did stick with fourth prince instead of MC,there is also a statement as prince can give them money ,equipment, nobility and position.

if they are loyal and gone by there vows of there childhood why would they attack the kingdom to overthrow the current emperor.

they felt empty because they achieved what the were working for so long but still they were unable enjoy it fully since they felt a little bitter.

Suo Jia ran off and the girls didn’t want to take a side.

These girls didn’t lack loyalty (else they would have actually went against him; which was something they weren’t willing to do).

And the fact that they didn’t join to attack Suo Jia and the fact that they felt empty without him still shows that they care for him and love him.

And author even stated that they didn’t expect to go against Suo Jia. But after the event, they couldn’t look at him due to guilt (which they wouldn’t have felt if they weren’t decent people or cared about him), and as such, in that kinda state of mind, they wouldn’t ask him to rejoin the prince.

And when asked, they stated that they were sincere in working for Suo Jia.

Suo Jia knows that those girls care for him, but he didn’t really have the power to care for them.

And the girls were just thrown into this situation. They originally thought that they would just spend the rest of their lives serving him.

And besides, they were over all very loyal, and he holds their hearts.

Now, if they were more like the prince (looking down on him and actually hating him), then I’d agree that they shouldn’t be forgiven (unless if they had a change of heart… but in Xianxia, it is rare for bad people to turn good and be good just cause they’re good people – though it is easy for good people to make bad choices and be hated for life cause of a screw up).

      3. Agreed.. that is my huge problem with this as well. How somehow the very loyal and oath-bound warriors to the imperial family.. all instantly rebelled against said family… for the 4th prince – Even those where it was only SJ that made the choice, they went against imperial degree to betray their own emperor? Veteran soldiers that have served for years, betrayed both their country and the guy who helped them immensely, earned their respect and lead them into battle without batting an eye? While the prince might have had time to send them a letter before SJ arrived.. and even then, they hadn’t even selected a leader yet, so how in the balls he did that is one giant plot hole. Oh and while I am at it.. it was actually not the sisters that was involved in him gaining the angels.. so the 4th prince couldn’t have manipulated that beginning.. so basically the sisters would have had to willingly go to him for help.. then in the end agree to help him.. while being sworn to the imperial family, which they swore an oath to him to betray… and in the end they betrayed him and the imperial family for the 4th prince.. who wasn’t involved in saving their skin, training, items, health – and only actually action might have been helping them pretend to be dead. But yea, the author dug himself deep, and had to get out. Still wish he could have done it in a more meaningful way, but heck.

All of it of course while SJ was aware of everything except the angels.. yea right.

Guys, I see that what you guys are considering a plot hole is just a misunderstanding on your part, the reason for the 36 warriors betraying SJ is(and you guys probably already know this but you were still hung up on the betrayal so you forgot) HE BLACKMAILED THEM WITH THEIR PAAARENTSS!!! The sworn loyalty thing is probably just the reason why they met the prince before and why they didn’t tell SJ about the former prince.

    3. Do you actually realize that they just stayed there and let him die, if he weren’t strong enough he would’v died, so technically by doing nothing they killed him. Do you get it ?

      1. They knew he was strong enough to escape… you know that, right?

He wasn’t just a weak child. In fact, it is because he isn’t weak that the 4th prince caused him so much trouble and viewed him as a threat.

        You get it?

    4. let me borrow this. Fuck off author. Do you even know betrayals suppose to even mean? They betrayed both of them, but technically they didn’t betrayed them? Are u right in the head?

let me say how I feel about this betrayals the 36 girls did. it’s MC “expectation” towards does girsl that the girls betrayed. the “trust” MC given towards those girl is not a small matter..

honestly, I can see how this girls going to die by protecting the MC from a tragedy. Author will use this as stepping stone nuture MC much further with this. Paaaah!!

reading ur 250 chapters of prologue is tiring enough.

      1. I have already explained what he meant, the first part is his personal thoughts, the second part is what is actually happened. Therefore the words ” I actually think” and not ” the didn’t” see the difference?

  4. He needed the support of Duke Wen Sha, to obtain the kingship.

lol Author if the 4th prince was so weak how can he manage to defeat the Emperor, beside with just a single duke I doubt the Emperor can easily be defeated..
And I was greatly disappointed since it seems the 36 girls well not be punish..
Contrary to what the authors might think a betrayal is still a betrayal no matter how much you sugar coat it as such the action of the 36 girls from the very beginning towards the end was completely traitorous.
Maybe along the way they have feeling for SJ but at the end they have choose to ignore those feelings and decide to stand at the 4th prince side. Even if they cause no harm to SJ but that is just from the outside, The inside feeling is more painful than any superficial wounds. Maybe the author has not been betrayed before but such action of betrayal is more painful than being stab a hundred times!
The author just write a betrayal scene with out any support on the consequences that might happen, as such the author only threat lightly of the act of betrayal of the 36 girls which reader such as I is not acceptable.
Since the author has this way of handling things it is much clearly how future developments well happen.
In short even if SJ well be betray in the future we can only expect light and minor punishment.
Good thing I never have to much expectation from this as such I was not really greatly disappointed.

And again 1 chapter revenge is way to short.. it was clearly stated that the 4th prince lost interest in the Empire so what can SJ expect to take back? did the author think any of this? was that the only punishment the 4th prince obtains? his thing was cut and a headache every 6hrs? can you even call that revenge? Revenge is you make the person in a very sorry state where he well feel pain no matter what he do, such pain is not physically but mentally. well I am not an expert in revenge.

The new arc no longer that exciting as I decide to make CCS a to read later thing, I;m just a single reader so forgive me for my long words, It might be the last thing I wrote some comments towards this novel.

Again what a great disappointment since the 36 girls was left unpunished..

    1. Hmm, question did you not perhaps read the letter sent by SJ clearly stating that this isn’t all and that there is more to come? I mean seriously could you guys at least get full facts before you bad-mouth the author please?

  5. author should’ve mentioned here that the 36 girls had their family taken hostage as well.
remember when they faked their deaths, the reason they did so to escape the military was because they had families.
If they had just escaped the empire could easily use their families as hostages to bring them back so even if i were in their position i would also betray suo jia because my family was taken hostage.
although they didn’t harm suo jia they didn’t prevent harm from coming to suo jia, honestly in their position this was probably the best thing they could have done for suo jia.
they did not attack suo jia but they could not completely disobey the 4th prince either

But! But that’s okay! Their families were held hostage.
Of course when their families find out that they’re the reason the United States collapsed and was taken over by a foreign power, I’m totally sure they’ll just shrug it off and go shopping at their local ISISMart. 1. So what? They just let their families die because of loyalty to the country that forces them to be weapons the moment they are found to have that constitution? Makes perfect fucking sense, would you just let your family die in this situation cause I sure as hell wouldn’t.

    2. Keep in mind that the military had them… that means the emperor. Not the 4th prince. Again somehow the 4th prince gained power over all the most powerful military in the country…somehow? And everyone betrayed SJ.. some for money, which the prince had less of than SJ.. yea. sure..

      1. Hmmmmmmmm……… So explain this to me why in the hell would they stay loyal to the country if their families are being held hostage by the emperor again? Also did you not read when the author said that the fourth prince had few allies? so explain what you mean by your previous statement please.

  7. Is he really still trying to look for the father that abandoned them? Also how do you figure the girls weren’t spies when they were reporting sj actions and stealing or just helping others steal from him all the while faining loyalty to sj? To those who say they escaped the military you do realizes they never left it was all part of the plan to gain sj trust

  8. Also how can you call the solider s of dawn city traitor but not the girls? Even if you can technically say neither betrayed sj because they were never truly loyal to him they still betrayed the emperor

  11. Man come on,Its clearly stated those girls colluded with Fourth prince in those few line like.
“we met fourth prince more than the saw MC”
Also if the they vowed there loyalty to the Empire the they should be under the current Emperor not his forth son who had low chance of becoming the next emperor.
There was also line stating “they could have money, power and status if they were with fourth prince”.
If they thought fourth prince and MC were together there was no need for them to hide they were meeting the fourth prince and telling him all his secrets .
Really the author is trying to put in some explanation so that the reader wouldn’t too much depressed .

    1. Yea, that line about power, money and status made no sense… They had more power, more money, more influence with SJ. Given that SJ had a direct line to the emperor, the 4th prince was basically useless and he was already mentioned to be the weakest of the princes.

oh—! suo jia has been assured of aila, aimi and his mothre, and have gone off…he finally left holy light empire, nice—! i’m excited to see what’ll happen now! new arc, new arc!
well, what i would have done, had i been in the shoes of the phoenixes, is to tell suo jia that about the fourth prince, and their families being held captive. suo jia would definitely have done something! and suo jia is a much more worthy person to follow!

  13. what a big bs, I am disappointed… utterly… I am most likely won’t be reading novel any more sorry and gj translator and all editors. Also someone should write at the intro of the novel that author fucked up mid way and they should start reading from chapter 252.

    1. Dude those girls went in agreement with fourth prince and betrayed not only MC but also there empire .People were not able to except this fact which is the cause of all this commotions .
Because according to how the stories has been led up until now, this girls gained the pity of the MC and gone along with the fourth prince from the beginning ,so these girls knew that fourth prince is monitoring MC ever action and also using him to gain the crown which is a clear fact.
If they truly Vowed to the country and are good people as stated, then they wouldn’t act along with the fourth prince and attack the current emperor.

If you can’t accept MC’s ups and downs then there is no point in reading as you stated ,I think this had made things more interesting and now he will truly start cultivation because he understood power is everything which all wuxia MC states at some point. So all those business kind of plot has finally over which i am truly happy about from now i hope this novel will start traveling toward Power,Cultivation,Domination phase so i hope you don’t miss those things.

Also, what in the world is “taffygirl13blog.wordpress.com” LOL

  15. In my opinion it’s clear the angels are on the wronge side. Wow that sonds so wrong itself.
They came to him and offerd themself for their beauty he did what they wanted but they didn’t kept their part.
Then didn’t care if their new boss could have a problem with the 4.Prince not even a warning.
They didn’t trust him at all. I mean if your friends or family has a problem that they can’t solve themself and you have the power to do so why wound’t they come and ask for help even if the MC would stand with the prince he shoudn’t trust them at all because the didn’t mention it to him at all especially the leader. She thought he was in love with her (I don’t get it if he is or not) why can’t she talk with him about her problems even if he is a kid he showed everyone that he has more competence than many adults. Would you trust “friends” that don’t trust you?
And don’t say they were so loyal to the prince because of his Charm and just coudn’t bring themself to betray him they betrayed their country that trained them from childhood so they can betray everyone, but not the Prince the choose their side and can’t bear it that it didn’t go like they wanted so they are sad but I thing they deserve it.
And the best part is yes the didn’t attack him, but his allies the empress and emperor. If your friends ask you to just stand still during they join hands with your enemy and attack your other friends let your enemy take your family as hostages and then try to force you into a corner so you have to join your enemy then would I state their is no friendship at all because they didn’t even put you and your feeling in their eys at all.
I don’t say he shound’t forgive them, I say he shoud get his revenge on them when it’s time and when they truly understand what they have done than can he forgive them everthing else would just backfire.
But this is just my opinion.
