Chapter 1: Even in dire straits, one must go to school and work as usual

It was early autumn. This was the time of the year when warmth was being replaced by the cold, the end of summer mixing together with the slight chill of fall, and when the new semester was starting.

“Students from 1-A and 1-D, please line up and move up the left. Students from 1-E and 1-H, please move back to the right. The section behind the teachers’ seats, please—It is prohibited to use special abilities! Do not fly! Do not jump! Walk!”

The members of Aquarius wore disciplinary committee armbands and brooches with the Aquarius emblem in dark blue mixed with silver blue. As Aquarius represented the will of the student body, they were in charge of directing the new students entering the academy for the first time.

“There are so many new students this year.” Fu Xing and Isaac had luckily been assigned with flexible responsibilities. Fu Xing clicked his tongue in amazement as they stood at the entrance to watch the constant stream of students entering.

“Apparently this is the second time the student population has had a sudden upsurge since the school was established,” Isaac said. He had heard this information from Flora.

In the many years of Shalom’s history, there was usually an average of two hundred students joining per year, divided into five classes. However, the number of students this year had suddenly doubled, so they had been split into eight classes. The hall in the main bailey was not large enough for everyone, so they had to move the opening ceremony to the stadium.

As the older students, the second years and third years entered first, sitting in what was originally the spectator area on the upper levels. A scarlet carpet was laid out on the hardwood floor of the first level that was filled with silver folding chairs that criss-crossed neatly through the entire area. This was the result of all the brownies working through the night. Even the dorm group and the cafeteria group had been sent over for support.

The brownies were very unhappy with being assigned extra work, and their discontent had reflected in the meals for the past two days. The dishes had all been prepared haphazardly, with some of the main courses not completely cooked and the desserts sporting very unusual colours and tastes. Even Rocort had been unable to eat it.

During dinnertime last night, after eating a very plain meal, Brad had taken a single bite of an orange dessert before directly spitting it out back onto the plate.

“Was this macaron made of clay?!” He did not hold back from raising his voice to complain. “It tastes like it came from kitchen waste! Have the taste buds of those winged midgets degraded to match their appearance?”

“Shhh.” Emerald quietly warned, “I suggest you quiet down. Just get through the next two days and it’ll pass.”

“Why should I?” Brad clearly disagreed. “They’re just brownies.”

“Yesterday afternoon, someone strongly interrogated one from the laundry group about how not a single wrinkle in his shirt had been ironed out, and why softener hadn’t been used on his towel. As a result, his underwear had been soaked in pepper water when it was sent back earlier this evening…”

“Who was that?”

“It’s obviously Dan Juan. Only he would bring up such a fussy request,” Flora snorted.

“No wonder I saw him walking like he had hemorrhoids.” Momiji took a sip of fruit juice, her lips curling up into a devious smirk. “And here I was thinking he’d played with himself too much last night.”

Never, under any circumstance, offend people that prepare your food and clothes. A knowing smile appeared on everyone’s faces.

Back to the current scene. Flora wore a disciplinary committee armband as she weaved through the crowd to arrive at the entrance. She had beads of sweat on her forehead showing just how busy she was, and the frown on her face expressed her sour mood.

“You two look quite leisurely.”

“Is something wrong?”

Flora curled her hand into a fist and pointed a thumb behind her. “The AC vent in Section E on the third floor is broken. Those arrogant elves have been acting as difficult as bipolar little girls.”

“I’ll go and notify General Affairs to inspect it.” Fu Xing prepared to leave.

“No need, I’ve already asked the brownies to fix it.”

“Then why did you come looking for me?”

“I wanted to tell you that if they come over later and complain more, just ignore them.” A cruel grin formed on Flora’s face. “I gave some coins to the little guys and told them to put some dead toads in the vent while they fix it.”

Fu Xing let out a forced laugh.

Isaact smiled faintly at Flora, only for her to casually arch a brow and meet his gaze. “What?”

“You’re always so energetic,” Isaac replied with a chuckle.

“Probably because I can be under the sun.” Flora bluntly roasted, “Unlike darkbloods that can never see light.”

Isaac was unbothered. In fact, his expression shifted into one of respect towards Flora. “What can I do to be as strong and as active as you?”

“Why not learn from your ancestor, and grab a few female virgins to soak in a bath of their blood?”

Fu Xing began to panic on Flora’s behalf. “Hey!” Isn’t that going a bit overboard?

“Female virgins might be too hard to find. Though there’s a male virgin standing right in front of me.” Flora crossed her arms and lazily jabbed at Fu Xing’s back. “Fu Xing, you can finally be useful.”

Fu Xing gaped at Isaac in horror, terrified that the latter would be furious or upset by Flora.

Isaac had recently revealed the matter regarding Bloody Countess Lee Kirst. At the same time, he had become the leader of the darkblood clans in the south.

The previously low-profile, unknown Isaac had instantly turned into the focus of everyone’s attention. No one ignored him or treated him indifferently. Instead, they looked at him with reverence, worship, fear, and even hostility.

Even Fu Xing found it a bit hard to accept Isaac’s status. He spoke more cautiously to Isaac now.

However, Isaac was not bothered by Flora’s fearless mocking. Rather, his smile only grew more pronounced.

“You really are interesting, Flora,” Isaac said sincerely.

Practically no one dared to interact with him after his identity was revealed, let alone people that could joke around with him. Flora’s blunt attitude and sharp words made him feel more at ease.

Flora was momentarily uncertain how to respond to the look of pure respect on Isaac’s face. Her furrowed brows loosened a bit as she leaned against the door without speaking and decided to rest a bit.

The chatter from the hall abruptly stopped. When they glanced over, they saw that the large number of students had already taken their seats while Shalom’s teacher representative, Grey, walked up to the podium in the middle.

“So many people.” Fu Xing couldn’t hold back his amazement at the dark mass of silhouettes.

In his first year, he had missed the beginning ceremony because he had been unacclimatized; last year, he had sat in the carved wooden chairs on the second floor of the main bailey’s hall, looking down at the new people taking their first step in a new environment.

In another year—well, to be exact, in ten months—he would be leaving this place.

Why is Shalom’s school program only three years? The lifespans of special animate beings are so much longer than that of humans, so why isn’t school similarly extended? Three years is so short…

Where will I be after ten months? Will I go back home and continue trying to be a good “human”?

He had no idea.

He shook his head to get rid of the uneasy concerns, refocusing his attention to the scene before him.

“It’s nice that there are so many people, the campus will get livelier that way.” Fu Xing added with a smile, “If Shalom managed to attract so many students, it means that the world of special animate beings is starting to endorse the school!”

Headmaster Sanbi’s reason for establishing the school was in hopes that special animate beings could better understand humans, then peacefully coexist. For the school to be regarded positively, special animate beings must have started to change their attitude towards humans for the better.

Perhaps even the war against White Triangle could be resolved peacefully—

“Not necessarily.” Flora coldly shattered Fu Xing’s dream. “If they really felt that way, they wouldn’t be joining only now.”

“Huh?” Fu Xing was puzzled. He suddenly thought of what Isaac had just said, that this was the second time the student population has had a sudden upsurge since the school was established. “Wait, when was the first upsurge of students?”

“About seventy years after Shalom was established, when the Seven Years War started in 1756. Nearly all the countries in Europe were dragged in, and the war spread through the Americas and India as well.” Isaac sighed. “Although it started because the humans were fighting for territory and colonization, the aristocrats in each country had special animate beings in positions of political power. As a result, White Triangle took that chance to rampage and purge all special animate beings. Many humans and non-humans died in the war.”

Fu Xing was still lost. “What does the war have to do with Shalom’s student population increasing?”

“They can hide in the academy’s wards and avoid the war. But that’s only a small minority. Most people enter the school with the aim to become stronger, training their special ability and various spells to use in battle. As a neutral ground, Shalom is the only place where various races can put aside their enmity and feel reassured that they can gather as one to face the greater enemy: White Triangle.” Flora paused for a second before continuing, “Strictly speaking, Shalom is basically a centre of military affairs that has various elite troops from all over the world.”

Fu Xing was dumbstruck.

He thought of Leon, his roommate, who had entered the academy for the same reason.

The gold button from Fidel seemed to be alive as it reminded Fu Xing of its existence from Fu Xing’s pocket where it had been resting since the school trip.

After the opening ceremony finished, the Aquarius members stayed behind to clean up the area. Fu Xing was once again sent to the warehouse, responsible for directing the brownies to collect the carpet and folded chairs.

He suddenly felt two taps on his shoulder. When he turned, he saw Zi Ye standing behind him.

“What’s the matter? Did you come looking for Samukawa? He’s not part of the general affairs group this time.” Fu Xing guessed that Zi Ye had probably come looking for Samukara to play…or rather, play with Samukawa.

For some reason, agitating Samukawa to his exploding point was very amusing to Zi Ye.

“Um, no.” Zi Ye paused hesitantly. “The thing you put in my room…”

“Oh, it’s a local specialty from the school trip. A gift to you.” During the trip, he had bought some small things at each location as souvenirs to give to all his close friends after returning.

“But I traveled with you guys.” Moreover, Zi Ye would have the chance to go next year as well. Technically, he could go anytime he wanted, really. Special animate beings did not lack time nor money.

“Eh, you looked like you were spacing out the entire time, you didn’t buy anything at all.” Fu Xing continued matter-of-factly, “It’s just something small, nothing expensive. Just keep it as a memento.”

Zi Ye stared at Fu Xing for a moment, then bowed his head slightly with a subtly shy expression. “Thank you.”

“You don’t need to thank me like that…” Fu Xing scratched his head in embarrassment.

After Zi Ye left, Fu Xing continued his tedious work.

The conversation on mementos made him recall that he still had a carefully packaged gift in his backpack. When he bought the items, he had properly accounted for everyone. But after coming back, he somehow ended up with one leftover. He had already given one to every friend, and he seriously could not figure out who the last person he had accounted for was. As a result, he simply carried it around with him, figuring that the moment he saw the intended person, he would give it to them.

But who was it?

There seemed to be a clear yet also blurry silhouette in both his recent and distant memory. A friend that was very familiar yet also a stranger.

Who exactly is it? I want to see him…

A hazy feeling attacked his consciousness, something that he had gradually started getting used to.

Ah, here it comes again. Fu Xing closed his eyes to ride through the dizziness.

However, this time, there wasn’t a familiar call ringing through his head. Instead, he grabbed hold of the wisp-like sensation and unraveled it bit by bit as he moved towards the indistinct target.

In his daze, he walked over to the depths of the woods that he frequented, arriving underneath a familiar tree.

Ah, that’s right, it’s here. I need to give the gift to him…

Yet the person that was always waiting for him under the tree was now gone without a trace. The only thing left behind was the brown pile of fallen autumn leaves.

A wave of disappointment rushed through him.

That’s right, I didn’t write anything on the hand-carved wooden card I bought from France.

He blankly pulled out a pen to write a few words on the wooden slab, then placed it into a pretty paper bag. When he was about to write the other’s name on the bag, he hesitated.

Name? What’s his name? Who is that friend that is always smiling while quietly listening to my complaints and my rambling with infinite patience?

He could not remember.

The only image that remained in his mind was the person’s eyes.

Dark irises that seemed to be a mix of various colours, with serene depths that carried profound knowledge in its endless darkness, and—

Heavy loneliness.

Ok, I’ll just place the gift here then. Hopefully he receives it…

When he came to awareness again, he found himself back in his room, sprawled over his desk. Everything that had just happened was a blur, as it usually was when he woke from these dizzy spells.

Fu Xing frowned. Why did it happen again? This isn’t a symptom of some type of dementia, is it?

He unhappily opened his backpack to take out homework. The small bag that had been inside was already gone.

The autumn night was a bit chilly with its strong breeze.

It was Friday, before the Golden Week holiday. It was past 10 PM, so most of the classes had ended, and students were scattered across the dorms and cafeteria to discuss holiday plans with friends.

There was a student activity centre in the underground passage that connected the male and female dorms. Despite it being underground, the ceiling portion of the tunnel was specially designed out of fortified glass so that the insulating tinted glass blocked out UV in the daytime. At night, it would switch to transparent boards that allowed them to move around without feeling trapped.

The student activity centre was like a hotel lounge, with billiards, a bar, KTV, a small cinema…it had everyone one would ever need. The common rooms for each third-year class were also located in this underground place of leisure.

Class 3-C’s common room was completely empty except for two people.

Fu Xing sat on the sofa, leaning back on the soft seat with small massagers placed behind his neck and waist to ease his sore muscles. His relaxed body trembled slightly with the vibration of the machines, and the spaced-out expression of bliss on his face made him look like a dementia patient.

Brad sat next to Fu Xing with wide eyes, expression so focused that it was almost fierce. He had his head lowered to concentrate on the object in his hands, and would nod intermittently. It looked like he was possessed, as though he was on the verge of letting out a scream from hell and spitting out green fluids.

Dan Juan and Emerald, who had just finished classes and arrived to join their friends, were welcomed by this bizarre scene when they stepped in.

Fu Xing lazily looked at the two that had just arrived. “Ohhhh….E-E-Emerald…Y-you guys are h-h-h-h-h-ere-e-e-e?” The vibrating massager behind his neck made his voice shake like a stuttering gramophone.

Dan Juan shook his head and clicked his tongue in wonder. “After knowing you for two years, I thought I’d already gotten used to your stupidity. Yet you always manage to surpass yourself with something new.”

Fu Xing turned his shaking head. “W-w-w-w-w-hat-t-t-t?”

“He’s saying that your stupidity is creative.”  Emerald walked over to a long table and put down his backpack. When he passed by Brad, he glanced over and was surprised to discover that the target of Brad’s concentration was Fu Xing’s PSP console.

“Damn it!” Brad cursed under his breath as he furiously mashed buttons.

“O-o-oi! B-b-be g-g-gentler!”

“Are you okay, Brado?” Emerald stared at Brad with an expression of confusion and sympathy. “Feel free to voice any frustrating difficulties you’ve run into. As your good friend and quick-witted teacher, I, Emerald, am always listening attentively to your suffering.” He smiled sagely, “Just 10 euros per hour as consultation fee.”

“Oh, shut up!” Brad shifted so that his back faced Emerald. “Be quiet, don’t disturb me!”

“H-h-he j-j-j-ust i-i-isn’t w-w-willing to a-a-admit d-d-defeat,” Fu Xing explained with a smirk.

“What?”

“I-I-I-I m-m-mean—-”

“Please turn the device off first…” Emerald rolled his eyes in exasperation. “I feel like an idiot for talking with you.”

Fu Xing reached back to turn off the power and the device’s vibrations immediately stopped.

“Brad borrowed the game I was playing before, but hasn’t been able to beat it. He’s only on the two-star difficulty songs on easy mode.” Fu Xing grinned smugly. “By the way, I’ve already reached the hardest mode.”

Emerald and Dan Juan exchanged a look of tacit understanding.

“Why is he suddenly interested in such a thing?” Dan Juan asked, “It’s not related to Zhu Yue, is it?”

“You really are smart!” Fu Xing looked at Dan Juan with respect. “It’s because Zhu Yue also bought this game.”

“I don’t need to use my intelligence for such a simple conjecture,” Dan Juan arrogantly scoffed. He stared at Brad with an expression of having found out he had just shook hands with someone that had an STD. “So does the game end with a scene of men having sex?” Dan Juan smoothly took a step back, as though trying to distance himself from something that would negatively influence him.

Brad and Fu Xing both froze. The former immediately let out a string of curses, before frantically jamming buttons and eventually letting out a frustrated yell, making it clear that he had lost once more.

“Stupid spider! What kind of dumb move is that!”

“Hey! Don’t break my PSP!” Fu Xing cried out, then turned to look at Dan Juan. “This is a normal rhythm game, there’s nothing that spicy in it!”

“I see.” Dan Juan nodded, “I thought if it’s a game Zhu Yue is interested in, it would be…”

“Please, what do you think she is?” Emerald snorted in exasperation, “No matter what, she’s just a normal girl.”

“Perhaps.” Dan Juan sat on the long sofa next to Fu Xing, reaching out to grab the massager behind Fu Xing’s head and dangling it in front of his face to inspect. “Why do you always have such strange things?”

“It’s really effective! And the massager will heat up too, so using it for any body tiredness or soreness feels really good!” Fu Xing twisted to pick up the other massager behind his waist. “When paired with the ones specifically designed for the waist, the relieving effect is doubled! The entire set was at a special price of 3500, and I got another 10% off with my student ID, so it was super worth it!”

Emerald nodded along. “Amazing, it does sound great. Buy ten sets for me, I want to sell them at their original price.”

“Order them yourself if you want them!”

“Tiredness?” Brad raised a brow. “I thought you were always relaxed.”

“Is your Aquarius work too exhausting?” Emerald thought back to how the Aquarius officers had been so busy working to the bone during the opening ceremony. “How about an essential oil to alleviate stress? Or a medicinal soup to boost your stamina? Oh, but drinking it seems to only increase a certain part’s stamina a hundredfold—”

“Please shut up,” Brad cut off Emerald’s words. He looked at Fu Xing, indicating for the latter to continue their conversation.

Fu Xing scratched his head in embarrassment. “It’s mainly because I’m taking a lot of classes this semester…”

“I heard you selected 36 credits.” Dan Juan rubbed his chin as he peered at Fu Xing with a look of scrutiny and admiration. “It’s the first time someone has been above me on the course selection list.”

The course selection list had students arranged in descending order based on the number of courses selected. It was posted in the main bailey for students to check if their course enrollment was correct. The typical student took 23-28 credits, while Dan Juan averaged around 30 credits.

“So many?” Emerald was astonished. “Aren’t there only 18 required credits? What are you taking so many classes for?” Then he struck his own palm with his fist as he reached his own conclusion. “I know, you think taking more classes is more worth the money! Registering for more with the same tuition is a really economical way of thinking!”

“Or is it that you’ve started to understand the charm of knowledge, so…” Dan Juan’s gaze sharpened. “You’ve also started to become interested in becoming the top of the grade?”

“Not everyone is as bored as you,” Emerald shot back. “Besides, even if he was interested, he doesn’t have the ability to become a threat.”

“That’s true.” Dan Juan nodded, “After all, aside from hard work, it’s very important to possess natural intelligence that surpasses others. Honestly, it’s extremely rare to come across someone that has both sides like myself.”

Brad glared at Dan Juan from the corner of his eye with a foul expression that looked like someone suffering from a fart inside an elevator.

“I just want to enrich myself.” Fu Xing forced out a self-derisive laugh. “I’ve fooled around for two years already, so I need to pull myself together in the last year at least. I can’t just be useless trash forever…”

Brad and the others looked at Fu Xing and said, “It’s fine as long as you’re happy.”

Dan Juan stood and patted Fu Xing on the shoulder. “If you know your ability isn’t enough, you can just work harder.” In a heartfelt tone, he stated, “But don’t call yourself trash.” He then walked away to the bookcase to pick up a popular science magazine to read.

Fu Xing smiled thinly.

In reality, he had just wanted to spend some more time with his friends. He had signed up for every single course that his friends had chosen. He wanted his last year to be more substantial, and to never spend a single second alone, always by his friends’ sides.

There was a tentative knock on the door.

“Come in.”

The door swung open to reveal petite figures wearing wrinkled new uniforms standing at the doorway. The three girls that were clearly new students entered the room together.

“Do you need something?”

“Excuse me…” A girl with golden-brown twin tails and light green eyes surveyed the four members of 3-C before landing on Fu Xing. She let out a soft sigh of pleasant surprise and reverence before shakingly speaking up. “We wanted to ask if we could have the honour of speaking to Senior He Fu Xing, the Regent of Night, the Phantom Black Star?”

The four of them stared blankly, evidently short-circuiting at the strange and bizarre description. “What?”

“Regent of the Night? Phantom Black Star? He Fu Xing?” Dan Juan stared in extreme confusion at the earnest girls. “I’m not quite sure if you’re mocking him or praising him…”

“Sounds like a prostitute name.” Emerald chuckled, “Fu Xing, what did you do this time?”

Fu Xing laughed dryly. “I don’t know…” Although he was also very puzzled by the shocking and strange titles, he felt a bit flattered by their sincerity. “May I ask who you are?”

Honour? Since when was talking to me, He Fu Xing, a type of honour? Is it because of my position in Aquarius that I’ve earned this special status? Honestly, being adored by juniors like this feels pretty nice.

“Class 1-A, Alice Landon. The tale of you infiltrating White Triangle’s HQ and wiping out an elite troop during the school trip has already spread everywhere.” The girl with twin tails spoke as though she was describing the epic of a hero, full of anticipation and reverence.

“Yes, and you even brought back the gold button from the senior cadre!”

“Truly too amazing!”

The other girls excitedly chimed in.

Fu Xing’s expression fell. “I didn’t do anything that extraordinary.” It wasn’t his achievement, he was not worthy of their admiration.

He was nothing, just a weak victim that was lucky enough to be saved by a group of righteous humans.

Emerald, Brad, and Dan Juan looked at each other.

While the school trip appeared to end on a peaceful note, they were still unclear about what had happened in the days that Fu Xing had disappeared.

After their action of hiding the secret assignment of hunting down White Triangle, they did not bring up White Triangle around Fu Xing. It felt like mentioning such a thing would remind everyone of the school trip’s dark side, and the reality that they had concealed it from Fu Xing and deceived him.

Despite the good intentions, there was no one that would ever want to be treated as a fool, protected through deceit.

Before time dulled the memories of the school trip, White Triangle would remain a sensitive and somewhat awkward topic.

“The story about you and your subordinates has been inspiring and morale-boosting for many,” Alice continued on excitedly.

“Subordinates?” Brad was extremely averse to this term. “Are you talking about us?”

“That’s so preposterous! I was clearly the leader of the team!” Dan Juan indignantly slammed the table and stood up. “I’ve had the top rank in the school for four semesters straight!”

Brad patted Dan Juan. “You’re also the top rank for ‘Never want to interact with’ and ‘Most opinionated’, so sit back down.”

“They aren’t my subordinates, they’re my friends,” Fu Xing coldly stated. “I’m nothing amazing — everyone in this school is far better than me. I’m not worth your admiration.”

“You’re both valiant and humble.” Alice praised, “Even if we ignore your achievements, Senior Fu Xing’s handsome appearance and modest character are also enough to earn everyone’s admiration.”

“Handsome?!” Emerald and Brad were both very dubious towards this description.

“No, she’s not wrong there.” Dan Juan rubbed his chin as he surveyed Fu Xing in earnest evaluation. “Fu Xing’s grown quite a bit over summer break, and his facial features have matured.” He now more strongly resembled the cool-looking Fu Qing. “He has indeed become more charming than before. Though his handsomeness isn’t very obvious, he’s at least not ugly. Far from ugly, actually.”

“Uh, thanks…”

Emerald’s expression twisted strangely. “So you’ve been observing Fu Xing the entire time.”

Brad furrowed his brows. “Pervert.”

“Shut up! I simply have finer senses than you two dense and insensitive people!”

“Your finer senses are probably not just mentally, but physically throughout as well,” Emerald smirked.

Brad and Emerald high-fived. They had recently become more connected on the same wavelength when it came to making fun of Dan Juan.

Dan Juan gritted out angrily, “You vulgar shit!”

Fu Xing watched his friends fool around before turning awkwardly towards Alice. “Er, so why did you girls come looking for me?”

“I received an order.” Alice turned to grab a sealed paper scroll from the girl with curly brown hair behind her and passed it over. “Senior Dina wanted me to give this message to you.” Once Fu Xing took the scroll from her, Fu Xing saw the pale blue rune on the back of her hand. It was the mark of the new student trials.

Dina was the secretary responsible for delivery of messages. The seal on the scroll was the crimson colour of blood and bore the emblem of Aquarius.

This was the code that represented a Class A meeting.

“Thank you.” Fu Xing lifted the hand with the rune and gently held it in front of him. “Order complete.”

The blue rune on her pale hand glowed faintly before vanishing. The girl’s pale face flushed red from the casual action.

“Thank you for your hard work,” Fu Xing smiled.

“N-No problem at all!” Alice retracted her hand in slight panic. “Please continue trying your best!”

The three of them bowed at the waist and left the common room.

After the door shut, they could faintly hear screams of delight from outside, and the girls’ merriment and chatting gradually faded into the distance.

“Fu Xing…” Emerald grinned as he asked in interest, “How does being popular feel?”

“I don’t know.” Fu Xing indifferently replied. “Fine, I guess.”

During the school ceremony last year, Margaret had cast an enchantment that made him popular. While it appeared that he had won admiration from his own charms, he knew in his heart that it was fake.

He opened the document to see the urgent meeting summons at 11 PM, four hours from now.

He had a 2-hour class with Leon, Application of Long-Distance Weaponry, at 9 PM.

The training area was at the hills on the northwest side of campus, which was a bit far from the Aquarius meeting room in the main bailey.

I should still be able to make it if I rush over after class, right…

An urgent meeting when the semester has just started? What could have happened? Is Shalom holding another major event?

Fu Xing’s heart clenched as his thoughts shifted to the school trip.

Or is it more killing…
